Fast And Easy Treatment For Annoying White Spots

May 5, 2017

There are several reasons why white spots may develop on front teeth. These spots or areas can exist at the gum-line or in the middle of the teeth which are visible and mar the appearance of one’s smile. Reasons why white spots occur include:

  • Post orthodontic treatment where brushing was not as thorough as it could have been Sometimes when the brackets are removed, a white "square" may be visible on the front teeth.
  • Less than adequate brushing along the gum-line where plaque has eroded and weakened the enamel (otherwise known as decay or early stage cavities).
  • Damage that was done to the developing teeth when still erupting into the mouth (Usually from some type of trauma at an early age)
  • Genetic tendency
  • Highly acidic diet (which can include carbonated sodas)

In the past the only choice we had to eliminate these unsightly defects was to restore them with tooth-colored fillings. These worked quite well, but are somewhat invasive. However, if the white areas are not too deep, there is a new product and technique we can now use that does not involve getting numb or taking tooth structure away.

This three-step patented process is convenient, totally comfortable and very successful. The results are amazing and the entire treatment only takes about 15 minutes per tooth. We are happy to answer any questions you might have about the procedure and to determine if you are a good candidate. Contact ustoday and we will get you closer to that gorgeous smile you deserve!

By Dr. Annie Mazure-Schmidt March 10, 2025
The Temporal Mandibular Joint (TMJ) is a vital part of your jaw that allows movement of the lower jaw. It is a hinge that connects your lower jaw to the temporal bones of your skull, located in front of your ears. This joint is essential for functions like chewing food, speaking, and other everyday activities. However, when something goes wrong with this joint or the surrounded muscles or ligaments, it can lead to a condition known as Temporal Mandibular Dysfunction (TMD), which can significantly affect your daily life. It is estimated to affect 5-12% of the general adult population, with women having 2x prevalence to men.
